Strawberry Shortcake TRIFLE

This pic.. i am proud to say.. is not from any site but straight from Dino Kitchen.. and believe it or not this is one of the easiest desserts you can EVER MAKE! and still you will look like PRO ahaha

so here is the INGREDIENTS!

- Vanilla cake Mix ( betty crocker)
- Vanilla Custard ( i used danayt )
- Strawberry filling ( same one you use on cheesecake )
- Whipping Cream
- Fresh Strawberries

You cut the cake into pieces and make a bottom layer of cake.. add a layer of custard.. top it with a layer of strawberry filling.. and repeat as much as your plate can handle :) and when you reach the top add the whipping cream. i used an icing pipe to get those swirls but it will still look yummy without the swirls

wa sa7tayn ya 7ilweeen ( 2 healthies you pretties) :P

Nutellayy Cheesecake Brownies RECIPE!

In the spirit of this holy month, i want to share the love, and since im a chocoholic i had to share this recipe that i did yesterday! Just by reading the name... i drooled.. i tried out this recipe yesterday.. actually its a group of recipes.. what i usually do before i cook anything is google it.. look at several recipes and then take the things i like and make my own dino recipe... ya salam.. although my final brownies did not look like the this pic at all.. this pic was from this  site ... they still tasted... WONDERFUL!

i actually burnt my hand while i was cooking them (as usual) and my reaction was to throw the pan in the air somehow.. so it landed safely but the whole mix was shaken ( ya 3alaya 3alieh inkhad shwaya) sooo welll it didnt loook wow.. but still i will share the recipe hoping yours will turn out better and that you wont drop it like its hot drop it likes its hot :p like me

You either make your life easier and just buy the ready made brownie MIX by Betty Crocker (Allah ysahel 3alieha ) or you make the brownie mix

My First Days of Ramadan

So im in Kuwait for a week spending it with family and i must say Ramadan just feels different when you are having iftar with family. And it was the first time i got to KUWAIT AIRPORT and not SUFFOCATE from ppl SMOKING! YEAAY! Lovin waking up for su7oor having su7oor and feeling the Ramadan Spririt. i miss going to the masjid. I, unlike many other moms, refuse to be the mom in the masjid with her babies screaming their heads off making it hard for everyone else to pray. I remember trying to pray really hard in the masjid and this lady next to me had a baby lying infront of her.. and the baby seemed to be like a week old or 2 tops.. and the baby was like freaking out. face red from crying and almost out of breath! and his mom was just praying and totally ignoring the poor baby.. Alllahuuuu Akbar .. calmly.. bekol burood.. as if the baby had nothing to do with her?! HALLOOO?!!

WALEK SHEELI IL WALAD YA MARAH!!
PICK UP UR KID WOMAN!!

i think almost everyone who was praying lost thier concentration and instead of having aspiritual happy thoughts we were all swearing at her in our minds!

Anyhoo.. its good to go while you can and pray jama3a.. sooo the recurring question people are asking each other these days.. other than " EMTA il ADAAAN??" -- >when do we break our FAST?!

it is.. SHU TABKHEEEN! suddenly all we want to talk about is FOOD! and im sure if you check ur FB page you will find all sorts of DELICIOUS FOOD pics uploaded!

I know Ramadan is not about eating. but come on.. when you fast its fun to look forward to what you will be eating for iftar.. al hamdulilah.. knowing that at least we have the option to choose what we will eat.. that we are blessed with food.. unlike those who fast and really dont have much to eat for iftar..

I am guilty of overeating at iftar.. no matter how many times i tell myself.. i will not PIG OUT .. i will not eat like a bagara.. (cow).. i find myseld saying those same words only while i am eating.. and saying.. ok TOMORROW i will not PIG OUT.. then there is a lovely 3azeemeh.. and a table full of lovely food.. U JUST CANT CANT RESIST!

so you end up eating and of you are invited over for iftar even after you feel you are full and STOP.. someone throws a huge piece of meat or koosa in your plate and says the famous arab saying

" WALLAH LA TAKLI MA AKALTEESH"
" I SWEAR YOU WILL EAT U DIDNT EAT ANYTHING"

you say.. bbb.. buutt im.. "LA2 KOLEE KOLEE FESH REJEEM "
"EAT EAT NO DIETS HERE"

and well.. i wont make her fast  3 days for swearing.. so i force my self to eat what is in my plate..

oh plus i dont want it to FOLLOW ME and EAT ME on judgement day..
Did Anyones Mom ever tell him that the food they dont finish on thier plate will follow them on judgement day?!
Well my mom used to tell me that.. which made me try to eat all my plate. and i would have nightmares of drowning in a HUGE POOL of MLOOOKHIYEH! Or Huge pieces of RICE the size of Huge buildings running after me with angry looks on thier faces yelling
" LIESH MA AKALTEEENA YA DINAAAAA"

Soo.. long story short.. i love Ramadan.. i love food..  and i would love to have more self control when i am sitting at a table full of yummy food...

There is an arabic sayin " 3asafeer ba6ni betsawsew" when someone is hungry
"the birds in my tummy are chirping"

And believe me by the end of the day.. they are no longer birds.. they turn into DOGS or  MONSTERS and there is no chirping.. bas

3aaaaw 3aaaw *GROWLS :P

p.s. note to all readers. i recommend you wear something comfortable before you have iftar.. something stretchy.. or pants with mughay6a ( elastic band) .. u never know how big your belly will inflate..

* dino faints after meal..

in Ramadan it is one meal.. only its constant from maghrib till su7oor :P

Ramdan Kareem

Ramadan is almost here.. sorry im reposting old cartoons but i havent had the time to illustrate a new ramadan cartoon... i will as soon as i can.. soo...wow.. can you believe how fast time is flying!? i want to wish you all Ramadan Mubarak wa inshala ykoon mubarak 3aliekom wa 3ala your families and may it renew our faith and clean our hearts. May it bring people together with more than just an sms msg or bbm or fb fwd with a lantern and ramadan kareem on it.

I love it when someone actually bothers to pick up the phone to call. Even if its once a year on Ramadan or on EID. Maybe even an sms or email that was actually written for ME not just a random copy paste fwd that you are tagged in with like 10000 others.

Let me remind you all.. TAGGING.. is made for photos you ARE actually in..*sigh*
Prepare yourself for some major tags. Ramadan then EID :P

My Goal this Ramadan is to try to make the best of it.. i can always watch musalsalat throughout the year.. Ramadan comes once a year and who knows how many more Ramadans they will live to see.

So with this Holly month almost here i really hope this years Ramadan is better than the last. I wan to read more Quran, pray more taraweeh. I feel with 2 kids its very hard to focus on your spirituality and faith and slowly without even realizing you find yourself slowly getting caught up in the worlds temptations and look back at how you were and wonder

HOW did i get here?!
Why am i not waking up for fajr?!
Why am is there no khushoo3 in my prayers?
Why dont i make time to read athkar?!
ًWhy do i hardly wear my Abaya unless if im in a hurry?

So many Whys.. and the answer is.. its those little sins we do.. that we think are not so BIG.. making fun of someone.. gossiping.. wearing something that you know is not Exactly flowy" فضفاض".. going to places where you know ppl will be drinking and convincing yourself its okay cause you are not drinking..
so many daily sins that we make some consciously other without knowing.. that add black dots into our hearts.. till one day we wake up and our hearts are heavy with sin.. too heavy to be moved by our prayers.. too black to make us strong enough to fight all our temptations..

So.. My Goal is Al Rujoo3 ila Rab il 3alameen.. to strengthen my faith.. I always used to wonder about verses in the quran mentioning البنون  ( our children) are "FITNAH"

I wondered how could your Children be fitna?! Money i understand! but kids?!
And now.. with chidlren of my own.. i know the answer.. its waking up for all the nightfeedings and not for all your fajr payers. its missing a prayer because your children need you or because you were too busy with your kids..

I do know that raising your kids is a form of 3ibadah if you have the right "نية" for them.

However, i believe if one gets so involved with their children that they cause them to deviate from their duties towards Allah, they become a fitnah

So let me end this post by asking not only for Gods Forgiveness but for the forgivness for those i have wronged knowingly or without realizing. If there is anyone i hurt intentionally

or unintentionally, Anyone i have قصرت في حقه

سامحوني

 wa Allah ysame7 il jamee3..

Ramadan Kareem To All..
نسأل الله أن يعفو عنا

Sentimental thoughts

My first artwork made using the wacom tablet and photoshop brushes.. experimenting a little with the brushes and different fonts. It was more like a way of channeling my feelings and thoughts  into art. The man her is my dad, from a recent photo i took of him. I love how he is staring into space and i wonder what he is thinking. What he wants to say but can't.. I thought of all the things i wanted to hear from him.. the stories i would love to hear again.. the times i took him for granted thinking he would always be okay.. it has been more than 5 years since he had the stroke that left him inable to walk or speak. Its like he is locked inside his body.. He is a great man and everyone who knew him would say that about him.. Why is it that we realize how amazing a person is after they get sick or die? Why is it when they are okay and can appreciate our words do we take their presence in our lives for granted.

Recently i heard about a professor in our university who passed away. He never taught me but her was also the person you go to to get into classes. Almost every student in AUS owes thier graduation to him as he would always help us get into classes we need to get into to graduate, even after we tried several times with no hope left. He was always very helpful with a smile on his face, and no matter how tired he must have been he always welcomed students to his door and never hesitated in helping others when he could.

i personally will always remember the day i ran into his office crying my head off thinking i will never get into the class i needed to get into for graduating on time, and he welcomed me with a smile and made a few jokes and with one click and one call he solved my problem. Many others share the same story or even other stories about what a great man he was. Thousands of students attended his funeral and he has been mentioned in several newspapers. The news of death was all over twitter & facebook. Its so sad that when he was alive, he never knew how many people loved him, and were grateful to him.

Why do we wait till its too late? Why don't we show the people we love and care about how we feel when they are able to appreciate it ? It feels good to know you are loved.

So now.. please.. if you love someone.. or care about someone.. or someone did something that really changed your life and helped you out.. and you never told or showed them..

GO GIVE THEM A HUG! unless if you are a girl and he is a boy then ... balash hug :P

lets show the love people.. before its too late

ok this was a serious post.. let me try to make it less depressive with a poem on za spot

When you care about someone who doesnt know
Give them a call.. start with " ALooo"
Never underestimate the power of your words
you might make them 6eer min il far7a like a flock of birds

So please please dont you wait
wherever you are fil 7arah or fil bayt
express your feelings before its too late
and you look back and say " ya rayt"

Allah yishfeek ya Baba

Allah yer7amak Dr Ibraheem Sadeq

i would like to add a comment my friend manar posted on this image.. she expressed my thoughts better than i did. its soo true

makes you think about how your words effect the ppl in your life and how you should choose your words wisely esp to the ppl dearest to you... its important that they know how you truly feel. moved.

My Wisdom Teeth Removal Experience( Last Summer)

So.. Last Summer i was in jordan. And what do you do when you are in jordan other than eat Mansaf/ Msakhan/ enjoy a few 3azayem ? Yes you also buy a bateekha from the street just because you can. oh and ofcourse you also watch "ye3ed saba7ak" which surprisingly is still showing everyday. You pass by sweifieyeh to buy all the latest DVD copy movies & music mix CDs each bas " LEERA" ( 1JD)

The most important thing you have to Do especially if you live in Dubai issss Go to the DENTIST!
Have you checked how expensive going to a Dentist is in Dubai? Im not cheap or anything but seirously i could pay for a ticket to jordan get all my teeth done and still pay less than i would in Dubai! So any hoooo... i go to my family dentist who i love and is a great dentist and she asks me to check how my wisdom teeth are coming out. And to my surprise in the Xray apparently they were coming out wrong. so she asks want to take them out?

Without thinking i say " OKAY" not knowing its an actual operation. thinking ok.. how hard can it be?!?! So she asks " what about tomorrow?" i say " okay great"

sooo.. next day i go...the surgeon arrives! it then hit me that its an OPERATION and not just a simple procedure!  and well after being injected with a lot of anesthetic he started cutting through my gums and OMG i wanted to GAAG ! he would hold my like and try to pull out the tooth like he is pulling out a nail from the pavement! u know when someone pulls so hard that his arms starts to shake. at a certain poitn i felt my head would just disconnect from my body! And well because i wanted to get it over with i let him remove 2 wisdom TEETH and not just ONE!

In the middle of the process he said something i will never forget.. he said " ba3d il GERD Allah ma SAkha6oh"!! unable to speak with cotton balls and a bloody mouth i wanted to say

HUHHH??? sho gerd ma gerd?!

Till after i asked what he mean and well he said that the worst that could happen la wa7ad ino Alllah yskha6oh gerd.. ya3ni he was actually trying to COMFORT me telling me the WORST Is OVER!!

all i could thnk of was that is he saying sar shekli zay il gerd????

And then he would say " wallah inek ba6aleh?" at this point my dentist was about to faint from the whole procedure!
Dear 3amo who took out my wisdom teeth and 3amo who did my LAZEC operation and EPIDURAL dr . when i DO NOT MOVE during operations it is not because i am BRAVE! its is because i am so FREAKED OUT i am FROZEN WITH FEAR! like yeah i will move and RISK messing up the procdures?!

truth is after the operation... i was worse than a gerd.. my face was not only swollen it was so swollen it was FREAKY ! it was UNREAL! really! i am NOT EXAGERRATING! ppl who have had thier wisdom teeth removed would look at me and think OMG EIS HADA!!! it looked like somone photoshoped my face to stretch my cheeks ! when people saw me they would GASP! or just STARE with Shock then laugh !

And that my dears is my wisdom teeth removal experience that i never shared here. and should have because it was a a MAJOR event!

translation = gerd= monkey in jordanian.. and i still dont understand his lovely metaphor!

Dino (hearts) khirfan

For a long time i was obsessed with bagar
Till i met you one day behind the shagar
You were a bit stinky but aren't we all at times?
At least you are the star of many nursery rhymes

You said something i will never forget
You said "baaaaa2" and it sounded like a threat
I knew you found about what i ate on EID
but please forgive me but it was yummy indeed!

I promise on eating less bagar and khirfan
 Maybe more chicken and betenggan
i fear that someday ill meet a cute chicken
i need a new hobby maybe ill start pumpkin pickin:P

translation : khirfan = sheep, bagar - cows, betengaan- shagar-trees, egg plant,

Old Post About Shabashib!

I was looking back at my blog and reading old posts and i came across this post ! and well here i am reposting it again because i love the cartoon :P !

background music.. * from an old cowboy movie when the two cowboys are about to shoot...

tan na na na na naaa naaaa naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa<--- cowboy song

If you are an arab... and you are reading this you might relate to what im about to say... imagine you as a kid sitting in a room and you did something wrong... your dad sees you and although he is far away... he has no problem aiming his shoe at you LOOOL ... heheh ok maybe im sharing too much info... but i remember in school when all the kids would gather around in the break and share thier "PIZZA" "Za3tar" CHips and "ZAKI" drinks we would all share these sort of stories... so I KNOw im not alone! so just Confess that at some point in your life there was a shibshib throw at you

So the question is why.... WHY... do ARAB DAD'S USE SHOES as WEAPONS? hahahha its like when someone says lets go to "BATTA" or "SHOE CITY" i hesitate... *dino twitches as she imagines NEW shoes flying in the air.

i will never look at shoes the same way again... thank u baba habeebi lol

so glad those days are over!! sadly i kind of miss the adventures.. it was like being in the MATRIX.... everything would go into slow motion.. SHOE IN THE AIR...*dinos back bends like its made out of rubber as she dodges the shoes

ok mom is reading this... ops.. my dad never threw anything at me but fly kisses when i went to school everyday :P

*Dino$ RUns B4 someone refreshes her SHIB SHIB memories

( after reading this post all i can think of is i wish baba was well again and he can throw as many shabasheb and shoes he wants at me all day as long as he is okay! Allah yeshfeek ya baba il kondara minak 3assallllllll ) romanseyeh ana lil ghayeh

2 Shawerma & 1 Cosmetic Surgery

Its funny how common plastic surgery is today,
I am not against it but i have to say,
Sometime its successful and you might look better,
other times all i can say is "YAAA SAAAATTER"

Faces and bodies stretched and injected with balawee
Stuck with one facial expression for life! ya lahwee
Bits Added Others removed or moved to another area
after a while it turns into cosmetic hysteria!

If your aim is to get the lu3beh "barbie" feel
let me remind you she is not real
She is made out of plastic
So please be realistic!

If you have an extreme need for a cosmetic surgery its different
So if im offending anyone that is not what i meant
I am just saying from what i see on TV & some actors
too much surrgeries can lead to many disturbing factors

So what i am saying is that im not against it totally
And maybe one day ill tuck in my after pregnancy belly :P
But its just weird to see how common it is!
Woman after woman getting a new size ....

I am sure one day i will be ordering something to eat
And a sign will say " buy 2 shawermas get one free surgery! our treat!
its like 1 out of every 5 people i meet
has had some sort of cosmetic tazbee6

The Day i Swallowed Daboos ( a pin)

Well there are so many funny stories but i think most can't be shared on this blog... but i remembered something that happened to me that i posted here a long time ago and well for those who are new readers on this blog you must have missed this... so here is the post :

Where was i the last 2 days? Hmmm not really wedding planning... i was in the hospital....

Yes... again i have a weird experence to share... things like this ONLY happen to ME... i SWALLOWED A PIN!!! Out of the many things a person can choke on or swallow by mistake.. COINS,FLYS,BONES,RINGS,EARINGS!!!! i swallow... A PIN!!!

How u may ask... let me explain... i was fixing my hijjab with pins.. so that it doesnt fly with every slight gush of wind . i was talking to my friend Aloosh with the pin in my mouth.. then i think i GASPED at something either she or i said... or just breathed in slightly... then GULP!!!!!

*dinos looks at alia with eyes full of SHOCK & FEAR & CONFUSION!!

*dinos points at throat and then at other pin in the hijjab!! ALIA SAYS " Shooo u dropped it?"

*alia starts looking on the floor...

* DINO makes a weird NOISE TRYIN TO GET ALIAs ATTENTION TO HER FACE & points at THROAT.... afraid that if she talks she will die!

ALoosh s face now looks like DINAs only she is laughing at DINA now and freaking out as well lol
i was abt to pray so i freaked out.. i was like pray first or call my mom first.. ( mom is a doctor) so.... after running around in circles not knowing what to do i decided to pray.. cause chances are if i die from this pin i die praying! Then i call my mom ..

ALO MAMA.. ma tkhafi.. ma tkhafi...BAS BALA3t Dabooooooooos
( side note : my mom freaks out when there is no reason so you can imagine after telling her i swallowed a PIN)

story continues....

Mama : EISH!!DABOOOs!? KEEF!! ??? ( WHAT A PIN HOW?)

Dina : sho 2a3mal ??????? ( WHAT SHOULD I DO?)

MAMA : rooo7i koleeee KHUBZEH!!

ALooshti runs hysterically to the kitchen throws RGHEEF( piece of Pitta bread) at me!! i start munching on it like a beggar who hasn't eaten in a year!!!

MAMA: yala  ana jay 7akhdik il mustashfa!! ( im coming to take you to the hospital)

We are driving to the hospital and ofcourse i could not stay QUIET the whole time i was making jokes and laughing... id say things like... this will be a NICE BLOG i was actually running out of TOPICS! lol or " law ino il khubzeh feeha LABANEH or Za3tar kan ithanayt badal ma abla3ha 7aaaf"

hehehe i was actually pretty hungry before this incident

Anyway.. i reach the hospital and all the nurses would LAUGH when they ask what is wrong...

MOM : " binitee bala3at daboos"( my daughter swallowed a pin)
Nurses looking around for a toddler... then i wave my hand with an embarassed smile :S

*nurse trys to hide the laugh... then i see them telling each other and laughing...

then they did an X RAY and i could see it in my STOMACHE!!! so they are like we need to make a ENDOSCOPY... i go like.. okay... UNAWARE of what this procedure REALLY MEANT!!!
the doctor arrives and asks where the patient is... mom says its her.. she says..
" OH Sorry I WAS LOOKING FOR A 7 year old "

arghhhhhh :S

LOL nice nice.... any one else want to mock me? aaahahahahah Soooooooo.. any hoooooooooo

suddenly they take me to a room... where i wear the operation clothes... and the inject me with something that i think was a anesthetic... so what i remember was a LONG TUBE WAS SHOVED DOWN MY THROAT!!! it was more like TREASURE HUNT in my STOMACHE!! After i don't know how long i woke up and i dont even remember anything other than i came in and i was shocked to see the had already took out the famous PIN!!

i also remember that it was fun being pushed around on a bed seeing the hospital lights! And i remember saying lots of weird things after the endoscopy since iwas still under the mukhadir effect! mom said i was dancing at a certain point lol when they asked if i was OKAy i stood up and did a quick NEMRA ( egyptian dance) lol

Felt like i was high.. not that i know what it feels like heheh but i should not be under any drugs whatso ever because i believe i am naturally high..

NOW THAT WAS A WEIRD EXPERIENCE.
... first thing i said was "7ase fi SANDAL FI ZORI"
(i feel there is a slipper stuck in my throat) hhahahaha

now it feels like there is a baby shoe rather than a huge sandal!!! :S

truth is i have swallowed a nail in the past... when i was 8.. but this was a first.. the lesson i learnt is.. dont talk when u have pins in your mouth... wait... no its DONT PUT PINS IN YOUR MOUTH!!! :S

Funny Stories II (Humus wala Cerelac)

Well its turns out my previous funny story got even funnier.. i msged my friend who i thought this story was about and told her to check out the post.. only to find out that she is not the person i am talking about. so till now i am unsure whose engagement i missed i dont even remember if i ended up finding the right party. which brings me to chain of endless stories about my memory loss that causes many many many emabrassing moments. but for today.. i will share the funniest story of my life.. i personally think this is the funniest thing that i have ever expereinced... so let me give you a bit of a background on this story..

My dad.. Allah yishfee.. before he got the stroke was always very serious and well we hardly sat there and talked and made jokes. To me he is like al 3ageeed in baab al 7araa. i would attempt to make him laugh or say jokes but usually he either did not react or just gave me a look that meant" SHARRRAP" haha So now knowing that about my dad let me start with what happened..

i love cerelac.. and before i even had lulu i would sometimes buy it and just make some and slurp away.. so one day i just felt like having cerelac and bought some. apparently it did not taste the way i used to and i didnt like it. So i didnt want to throw it away because growing up i was told any food u throw away will " yil7a2ek yowm al qiyama" ( follow u on judement day). so i imagined a huge bowl of ceralac running after me and me drowning in cerelac. so i put it in the fridge.. maye ill eat it later...

NExt day.. i wake up.. to see my dad sitting in the living room. with a troubled look on his face... i ask..

ME :"shu fee?" (whats wrong)

Old Blogging Days!

wow.. i just spent the past hour going through my old posts and its like reading my diary. it brought back smiles and tears and its like reliving memories. I dont even remember how i started but for sure i never thought then that i would be blogging for the next 5 years! this pic i posted is a screen shot of the FIRST i ever got on my first post .. a SPAM msg.. that i actually replied to because i had no idea it was SPAM lol love the anonymous comment here.

Anyway.. so much to say.. i used to write and hardly anyone read my posts so i just wrote anything i felt like writing. Soon i had followers and people i know from real life started reading my blog and i love that i love having readers. what i dont love is that this causes a lot of necessary DRAMA! like i post some random thought and the next day i find someone m2ate3ni and does not want to talk to me anymore :S I am generally an open person.. for EX... i shared my life with my readers. the good the bad, the sad and ofcourse the CRAZY . some say i share too much and that i shouldnt and now i try to keep my blogs more general and not personal. i shared my 3ersan stories and fears.

I feel like i found myself here. after blogging for a while i decided to try illustrating cartoons for my posts and stories and that was when i introduced my famous "Bagoora". who is actually my imaginary cow friend who is there for me always. the story behind the cow love is here.

Made me realize that i love illustrating and now i am working on becoming better in animations as well.

Bagoora was a big hit.. lots of fans and followrs loved her.. but i admit once i got married i broke her heart and she found herself a husband 6owr.

Looking back at the events that happened in the past 5 years. i started this blog single, depressed and jobless. then i found a job and in 2007 got married. this was a funny blog i wrote in my single days on how i felt then :P i also shared how it was like to be a newly wed with my cooking adeventures ( burns, slips in the kitchen).

I also shared my sadness as well.. a 3 years ago my dad had a stroke and i thank all my blog readers for standing by me with thier prayers. never underestimate how simple kind words can affect another person. Al hamdulilah he is stable now.

Neway so then i shared my wedding with you all.. then i blogged while i was pregnant updating everyone on my pregnancy and drawing cartoons of how i imagined lulu with a poem for each post :)

And now i am sharing my experience being a new mom and sharing my stories with lulu :) my now 20 month year old daughter! Wow lulu will be 2 soon! i admit i stopped blogging for a while as i was overwhelmed with being a new mother but now i am back on track ! will 2agrefkum with my blog posts and cartoons! working on an animation right now..

So in conclusion.. i feel deciding to blog has been the best decision i ever made... i have gotten to know a lot of amazing people like Abed who is funny and only speaks (jawaher) also very active on twitter

Kinzi a person who makes your heart all warm and fuzzy.
Ola with her lovely posts
Maioosh who is an amazing person, a new mom like me now who is married to another blogger Qwaider. Not to forget to mention mr Abulsharif and his batata tree.
Halawa who is the most hilarious person to tweet with :P Other ppl i have followed for a long time areMqabbani, KJ ( who has an amazing photography blog as well), Mzaher ( my old friend from uni and brother of one of my best friends who is like a sis to me which makes him technically my brother ). Other cool people i got to know a little are Malaget Ghaseel , SimSim , Damdoom.

Lots who used to comment here i still remember but they no longer have blogs. Im sorry if i forgot to mention people i am sure i have. Thank you all for making this blog possible. If i didnt have followers or readers i probably would have never come this far :)

Thank you all.. Group Hug.

Plenty of fish in the Sea?

So we all have heard the " plenty of fish in the sea" metaphor at some point in our life. And i must say yes there are a lot of fish in the sea but there are also a lot of fish that are now extinct. And sometimes the fish you find is a rare fish that is not found very often. So when someone is depressed or just feels like they lost someone special. Don't use this metaphor to make them feel better. imagine you are out fishing and just caught a really huge and rare fish! you are so happy and suddenly it jumps out of your hand and back in the sea. There are a lot of fish in in the sea is not what you want to hear right away.

There could be a lot of fish in the sea but unless if you are aiming on having mermaid children that is not a comforting thought. So.. instead i will say to all those amazing single ladies out there looking for their special fishie .. you dont need to go fishing. because usually you will be disappointed as the fish you thought you caught, after pulling at it so hard turns out to be a big "kundara"(shoe). So just live your days as they come don't try to make things happen and let Gods plan take action because He knows what is best. There are a lot of good people out there and some actually dont even smell like fish :P

Getting Old

i was asked he other day when i graduated from university.. and i hesitates before i said "i went into uni 11 years ago!!" just saying it made it a reality and i just never felt those 11 years pass by! i mean some memories feel so recent like it was 2 to 3 years ago but its actually 11 and counting. and ofcourse i am not getting any younger. i am now 28 years old and i dont consider myself old but its just that i know time passes by so fast and before i know it another 10 years will pass and then another 10 and im 50 years old and i look back at my life and wonder how i got here so fast!

i am 28 and already i feel after delivery like my body has been hit by a hurricane. its like one baby and back pain has never left me. its like i get up and i sound like a grandma. " akhh dahrriii" i feel that by the end of the day i dont have any energy left. i worry about what will happen after 3 kids! its like pregnancy, delivery and motherhood sucks the life out of you and ur body no longer responds to you. id be sitting on the couch.. and the something is on the floor.. and in my head i say " goomi ya marra"... silence... "GOOMEE yalaaa" no reaction..

i think as the years pass by.. the stronger the effect of gravity is on ur body.. its like everything is heading down lol and you will likely get laghaleegh... you will expand in ways you never knew possible.. you notice stretch marks.. wrinkles.. white hair and one day you will look in the mirror and think "WHO IS THIS PERSON?"before you know it your children will grow up and have thier own grandchildren and you will be a GRANDMA! i still cant get over being called " KHALTO" :S

with time u start needing more and more medications. to control cholesterol diabetes.. your memory gets worse.. your hearing gets worse... you need alarms to remind you to take the medications and you need hearing aids to hear the alarm! :S

i think i will never get over the shock of seeing ur friends kids or baby sisters after a few years.. and suddenly they are grown ups!! my friends son was so tiny and cute and i used to hold him and play with him. that was when he was 3 or 4.... last time i saw him.. he had facial hair! and sounded like a "3amo"! i just can never get over that... how fast ppl grow.. how fast we grow.. and i just wish that by the time im really old i look back at my life and feel i accomplished something
that affected the world somehow. i want to be remembered. i want to make a difference.

my flight to al GORDON

So as soon as i enter the plane. and next to me is a lady that looks extremely exhausted carrying what i thought was a bag on her chest. and 3 hyper kids sitting next to her. as soon as i sat down she started complaing to me. saying. " hatha 6ayaran mush nafe3! mush mka3deena kolnajamb ba3d" so i assumed hes husband was in the second aisle. but well she said" hay ibni la7alo warah"

*WIDE EYES* ibnek ( if i was drinking water now it would have bazagt-ha out of my mouth)

side note : what i thought was a bag on her chest was a month old BABY! so small that you cant even see HIM!

so in total.. this lad had 5 kids. and is travelling ALONE!

i asked : liesh ma 3indik khadameh? keef bt2dareee????

she replied " JoWzeeee ma bido khadameh li2no rijaal mutadayen wa ma byakhud ra7toh fil bayt!!!!!!!wa bido lisa kaman walaaadd"!!!

omg?! and me i a thinking how do ppl manage with 2 kids without a maid!!!

she obviously was so exhausted and mutdamra. and i cant blame her. i also felt sorry for her eldest girl who is 5 years old! because she doesnt have a maid she makes her daughter help take care of her brothers.

for ex. many timeso n the flight she would say " roo7i shakheeekheee akhoooki fil 7ammaam"
how disturbing is that? her brother is like 9 months younger than her and she took him to the bathroom and seemed to have done this many times before! even when lulu ran away from my la on the plane she came to me with lulu saying " khalto hay bintik"

so i sit there hearing her complain about her life and how she would love to "zet wa7ad feehum" if not " zethum kolhum" !! ofcourse she spilt all sorts of drinks 3alay. and i could here her kids zinoo every 2 secs " yummmmaaa btilkli3 il 6ayaaara" "yammma hab6a6 il 6ayarah" " yammaaa hatha il talafezyooon fee 2al3aab" yammmaaa yaama yamma

they offered lulu some marshmallows with CHOCOLATE SYRUP... and u can imagine manzareee and weyaha. full of chocolate ( note to self - DONT WEAR WHITE EVER AGAIN)

so in conclusion... i dont believe children is a responsiblity that is only on the mother. its both parents! and it is unfair in marraige that man only thinks about his "raa7aaa" and neglects how tiring it is to take care of kids!women should not just keep getting children when they cant hadnle them till they reach a point where they believe thier life is over because of thier kids and start bottling up anger and rage that eventually come out on the kids. who grow up with major psychological problems.

2aall wa shooooooooo wa hiyeh taking care of all these kids and takes them to school and bitdaressss wa bit7ammem he comes and complains that she is ignoring his rights as a husband and bu3ud bitwa7am 3ala 6abkhaaaat!!!!

i just go frustrated.. and i had to share. havent blogged in a while guess gordon inspired me!

Jeel il GPS

So you are driving to somewhere with your GPS ofcourse because nowadays you MUST have a GPS. you enter the location code. and you wait for "jil /mursi fat7ieh or whatever you named ur GPS to start talking and leading the way. you find yourself using the GPS to get to locations you already know the way to but you still trust it more than yourself. you can be wrong but it surely knows the way.

So one day. you are driving and suddenly you hear the GPS say "lost reception" or "recalculating" and its stuck and you are stuck and you just dont know where to go! and you start freaking out! and sometimes new roads are not updated so it tells you to go left or right when there is no LEFT or RIGHT and insist on GOING because ofcourse IT SAYS so and ofcourse it CANT be wrong.

Pshhh.. jeel il GPS i7na :P i must say if they can implant one in my brain i will not say no because my sense of direction is.... ma3dooom.

Al Gurdon

Although i am not pure jordanian. And jordanians call us palestinians with jordanian passports "Baljeekeyeh" i must say when i think of home i think of jordan. ofcourse palestine is in my heart but i hardly lived in palestine and i carry it in my heart. but jordan is where i grew up.

where else would you hear a Ghaz icecream truck? where else would you wake up to sheep eating ur gardens 7asheesh as ra3ee il ghanam says "hrrrrrrrrrraaaaa3".

where else would u here DURrrrrrrrayehhhhhhhhh !

when you live in jordan for too long u start complaining about how ppl dont smile much wa darbeen booz. you complain about how they drive. and the way the men flirt in scary sometimes life threatening ways . like for ex almost running you over with his car and then blowing u a sleezy fly kiss. or knowing that when you go to AL BALAD (city center) you willl surely come back bruised from the many males who will pinch you and shove you with thier shoulders as they whisper " eishhhh ya lu3beh/khasseh/barbie/ pascal?/get3a/shagfeh"

i will always remember the cab drivers that share the weirdest stories. most of them claim have phd's or are drs and drive a cab for fun. or the 100 mirrors in the front of the cab so that he can look at u with alf 3ayn and ofcourse he is always playing the weirdest jordanian music. and what is up with the long pinky fingernail! ya33333

i go to jordan for one month and it takes me a few years to get rid of the "7afartaliness" talk. and i dont think i will ever totally stop the jordan effect. for ex. using expressions like "iglibi" wijhik or "6age3". it just rubs off on you. i think anyone who goes to jordan should stop by lebanon on his way to wear off the gordun effect

oh and the beggars.. ya salam. they should seriously go to hollywood. i mean look at the "slumdog millionare" kids. (sorry i hated that movie especially when i had to see it in a movie full of indians smelling like curry and the guy next me farted and i felt the vibration and ofcourse the fart smelled currlylike too)

so you would think send some of those kids from jordan to make a movie and watch them win 10000 oscars. i remmeber one kid who was crying at the edge of the sidewalk picking up the gum "s&b" that had fallen on the floor. i flet sorry for him. i knew he was forced to sell it and i knew he would get in trouble. so i gave him some money. a week later . same traffic light. same boy.. crying picking up his chewing gum! some guy actually felt so sorry for him got him a new box of gum! hahah

so in conclusion. i can talk forever about jordan. i can make fun of so many things but in the end i feel its a part of me. and i love jordan. it feels like home to me. and so many memories and funny stories come to my mind when i think of jordan.

whether ur full palestinian/ of full jordanian. or palestinian that has lived in jordan. we are all arab. and we should all be proud to be arabs. i personall am proud to say im a palestinian/ jordanian wa bazborti akhthar zay blaaaaadna il sarakoooha il yahood. oh i just remmeber my renwed passport is blue. so ignore that last comment :P
